Dounk! went the shoulder,
\nsnap went the hip,
\nstepped to the side – “Yep!” took a trip.
\nThe floor didn’t give,
\nwas hard as a rock,
\n– pain it was awful – went intah’ shock.
\nI thought of my Pappy,
\nhe used to say
\nwhen you’re in a big hurt just Stove Up and pray.
\nStill sprawled on the floor
\nwhen the EMTs came –
\nthey moved me – I threw up and passed out in pain.
\nI woke in a haze,
\nwas asked how ‘ah feel,
\n“I feel sorta’ happy – this can’t be real.”
\nThen a few minutes later
\nthe drugs all wore off,
\nrealities back -“… even hurts when I cough.”
\nThe docs fixed me up,
\nwith pins and with screws,
\n– just laid there in bed like yesterday’s news.
\n“I can’t move my leg –
\nmy shoulder – it’s sore,
\nI wanna go home, don’t want anymore
\nof this medical care,
\nit’s costing a ton,
\nand I lay crooked in bed – with a big, bulbous bun.”
\nSo finally go home,
\nrecovery starts
\nwith a physical terrorist named Big Burly Bart.
\nHe stands 6 foot 8,
\nand with huge, hairy hands
\ngrabs a leg and a bun and says time to stand.
\nThere’s groanin’ and moanin’
\nbut nobody cares,
\nI’m just a twinky and Big Barts the bear.
\nThe weeks slowly pass,
\nit’s finally all over,
\nit’s all back to normal – just movin’ slower.
\nBut here’s my mistake
\nand a really big tip –
\nat the Seven Eleven – don’t be clumsy and trip.<\/p>\n
