Increase the minimum wage, is what we often hear.
\nFor those who work and aren’t paid much,
\nthat option seems quite clear.<\/p>\n
The employers have the money, why shouldn’t they pay more?
\nJust take it from the profits,
\nshould have thought of that before.<\/p>\n
But first let’s ask an owner, who’s into lemonade.
\nFor each cup sold, clears 15 cents,
\nshe thinks she has it made.<\/p>\n
And Billy who is 5 years old, has it made as well.
\nEach cup he sells, he makes a dime,
\nand everything is swell.<\/p>\n
But Billy’s older sibling, thinks it isn’t fair.
\nBilly’s at the stand all day,
\nand the owner seldom there.<\/p>\n
So Billy’s bully sibling, tells the owner to be fair.
\nPay Billy more and you take less,
\nor Billy won’t be there.<\/p>\n
The owner states “that’s fine by me, I’ll shut the whole thing down.
\nMy back’s sore hauling water,
\nfrom the other side of town.”<\/p>\n
So Billy’s sibling is quite pleased, owner’s back well healed with time.
\nWhile Billy cries and sadly spends,
\nhis one, last lonely dime.<\/p>\n
